Bricks update -31st July 2017

Checked the site on Friday 28th July - noted the following -

- the brickies had finished the window sills, and finally installed the entrance overhead support beam.
- the brickies had finished the LHS wall to second level
- vandal-damage remains intact. Assume this will be fixed once scaffolding comes down
- the brickies had tidied up the site, broomed the floor and tossed all rubbish into a gigantic pile at front of property

- site is now ready for next step - either plumbing, weatherboard, or ceiling strut installation (requires a crane)
- I'd assume there is a rubbish pickup scheduled, as there are 3 pallets of bricks in the way of everything

- stairs remain to be built

Saw the the scaffolding guys this morning, unloading all the bits and pieces for the scaffolding, so the brickies and carpenters can continue their fine work.

Brick-work update 13th July 2017

Apparently some vandals had a crack at each corner of the house, destroying some of the lower bricks. Police were called by Masterton. No notification to us by Masterton, except that I saw the Police car arrive to interview the neighbours (morning of 11th July).

Had a look - the damage seems replaceable. It would've taken fair effort though and would've made some noise. Neighbour tells me that this happened overnight.

Brick-work as of morning 13th July is all up to first level.

I noticed the brickies had tidied up a lot of their mess, so I think this means we will see other trades like plumbers and very likely the scaffolding will go up so they can continue on the next level.

After that, we'll see roof trusses fitted.

Bricks update - 11th July 2017

Brickies were onsite Friday 7th, Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th.

Electricians (Steve Thompson) have now connected the site to single-phase power. Makes it way easier for the trades to work (and quieter, for the neighbours).

Brick phase update - July 2017

Brickies onsite Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July.

The gas plumbing was also completed on 1st July, in copper - last time it was copper only at the point, but this time copper from input to point with no plastic.

The gas lines had to be installed prior to bricking commencing on RHS of house.

Brickies onsite Monday 3rd July and Tuesday 4th July.

Water leak noticed on the evening of 3rd July. Notified SSC.

Brick work completed to shoulder height around most of building.
